Regular Season Round 2: Oviedo - Melilla 86-74

The most surprising game was a loss of Melilla Baloncesto (1-1) on the court of Oviedo CB on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Oviedo CB 86-74. The game was mostly controlled by Oviedo CB. Melilla Baloncesto managed to win second period 23-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Oviedo CB shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Swingman Victor Perez (196-82) scored 21 points to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Francisco Cardenas (177-90) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Power forward Hector Manzano (207-80) responded with 17 points and point guard Juan Riera (188-79) scored 19 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Four Melilla Baloncesto players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Oviedo CB is looking forward to face Palencia Baloncesto (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Melilla Baloncesto will play against FCB Regal II and is hoping to win this game.
