Regular Season Round 4: Akita NH - Aomori Watts 74-51

BJ League top team - Akita Happinets (4-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Aomori Watts (1-3) 74-51. The game was mostly controlled by Akita Happinets. Aomori Watts was better in second period 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Aomori Watts to just 7 points in first quarter. Akita Happinets had a 31-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a quality performance of American forward Ruben Boykin (201-85, college: N.Arizona) who helped to win the game recording 7 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import center Chas McFarland (213-86, college: Wake Forest) who added 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. Four Akita Happinets players scored in double figures. At the losing side Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds and American guard Eric May (196-90, college: Iowa) scored 12 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Akita Happinets have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. Aomori Watts lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. Akita Happinets will face Tokyo Cinq R. (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Aomori Watts will play against Niigata Albirex.
