Regular Season Round 3: Point Chaud - Houthalen 88-59

Point Chaud used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Houthalen 88-59 on Sunday night. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-59. Point Chaud dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Houthalen's 32. It was a good game for point guard Julie Allemand (173-96) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Manon Grzesinski (184-95) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Point Chaud players scored in double figures. Point Chaud's coach Pierre Cornia felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The former international forward Annelies Blommaers (176-83) answered with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Canadian guard Elle Kerfoot (170-90, college: Seattle) added 13 points in the effort for Houthalen. Point Chaud will face Castors Braine on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Houthalen will play against Jeugd Gentson (#10).
