Regular Season Round 2: Azpeitia - Castello 75-82 OT

Azpeitia forced the game against Castello into an overtime, but lost by seven points 75-82 on Sunday night. The game took place in Azpeitia. But the guests from Castellon were better at the end. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 21-14 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 7-point victory in overtime. Castello forced 24 Azpeitia turnovers. Nigerian-American power forward Olasumbo Atoyebi (203-87, college: Elon) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Jose Maria Garcia (193-87) supported him with 15 points. Four Castello players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds by Lithuanian center Gediminas Zyle (210-88) did not help to save the game for Azpeitia. Power forward Federico Ucles (204-93) added 14 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Castello will meet CB Guadalajara (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Azpeitia will have a break next round.
