Regular Season Round 6: Orchy - Denain 67-89
Date: October 15, 2013
There was no surprise in Orchies where 14th ranked Orchesien BC (2-4) was crushed by ninth ranked Denain Voltaire (4-2) 89-67. The game without a history. Denain Voltaire led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Denain Voltaire outrebounded Orchesien BC 50-34 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Orchesien BC helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Maurice Acker (176-87, college: Marquette) notched 24 points and 7 assists to lead the effort and the other American import forward Brandon Brown (201-85, college: CS San Bernar.) supported him with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Brown is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Denain Voltaire players scored in double figures. Even 7 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists by American point guard Austen Rowland (186-81, college: Lehigh, agency: Court Side) did not help to save the game for Orchesien BC. Serbian Djordje Petrovic (203-84) added 11 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Denain Voltaire moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Orchesien BC dropped to the thirteenth position with four games lost. Denain Voltaire's next round opponent will be ALM Evreux (#8) on the road where they are favorite. Orchesien BC will play against Le Portel (#3).
