Regular Season Round 6: Poitiers - Lille 71-62

Bottom-ranked Lille Metropole (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 71-62 loss to fourth ranked Poitiers (4-2) in Poitiers. The hosts were already 12 points ahead at halftime and as many as 14 after three quarters before a 18-13 last quarter charge of Lille Metropole cut the lead to 71-62 at the end of the game. Poitiers players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for American point guard Justin Ingram (189-85, college: Toledo, agency: Two Points) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 9 assists. American-British power forward Laurence Ekperigin (201-88, college: Le Moyne) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Finnish Ville Kaunisto (205-82, agency: Court Side) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds and American power forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Lille Metropole. Poitiers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Lille Metropole at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Poitiers will play against Saint Vallier (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Lille Metropole will play against Hyeres-Toulon and hopes to get finally their first victory.
