Regular Season Round 4: Basket ROW - Widzew 66-55

Bottom-ranked Widzew is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their fourth consecutive match to sixth ranked Basket ROW (2-2) 66-55 on Wednesday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Basket ROW. Widzew was better in fourth quarter 19-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Widzew to just 6 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Widzew 41-25 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for American guard Rebecca Harris (176-86, college: Illinois) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import forward Markel Walker (185-90, college: UCLA, agency: LBM Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. International Aleksandra Pawlak (189-84) replied with 16 points and American power forward Tynikki Crook (185-89, college: Marshall, agency: Regeneracom Sports) added 10 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Widzew. Widzew's coach Janusz Wierzbicki tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Basket ROW moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Wilki Morskie. Loser Widzew still closes the standings with four games lost. Basket ROW will face AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski (#7) in Gorzow Wlkp. in the next round. Widzew will play at home against Energa Torun and hopes to get finally their first victory.
