Regular Season Round 5: Sundsvall - LF Basket 88-83

There was no surprise when 7th ranked LF Basket (1-3) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Sundsvall Dragons (3-1) 88-83 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 29-15 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Sundsvall Dragons made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Icelandic point guard Jakob Sigurdarson (192-82, college: Birm.Southern) stepped up and scored 22 points and 4 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners and American guard Alex Wesby (198-80, college: Temple, agency: R.H.Consultancy) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international swingman Christopher Ryan (196-90) responded with 21 points and 4 assists and Serbian forward Danilo Sibalic (204-88, agency: Beo Basket) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Five Sundsvall Dragons and four LF Basket players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Sundsvall Dragons. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Norrkoping. LF Basket at the other side keeps the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Jamtland. Sundsvall Dragons will meet Eco Orebro (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. LF Basket will play against the league's second-placed Boras Basket.
