It looked good early as Sydney Uni Flames took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Bendigo Spirit had a 20-10 second period charge getting the lead and Sydney Uni Flames were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 61-77. Bendigo Spirit dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Sydney Uni Flames' 24. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Rohanee Cox (182-80) who recorded 16 points and 8 rebounds and guard Katie-Rae Ebzery (177-90) added 17 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bendigo Spirit's next round opponent will be West Coast Waves (#5) in Perth. Sydney Uni Flames will play at home against Adelaide Lightning and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
