Very significant was Okinawa GK's (#2) 83-70 road victory against 3rd placed Shiga L-Stars. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Shiga L-Stars were ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 47-32 second half run of Okinawa GK. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Trinidad and Tobago power forward Kibwe Trim (208-84, college: Sacred Heart) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side and American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) accounted for 18 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. American power forward Shelton Colwell (202-80, college: Missouri St.) came up with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Panamanian forward Dionisio Gomez Camargo (203-80, college: Arkansas) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Shiga L-Stars in the defeat. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Okinawa GK (4-1) keeps a position of league leader. Shiga L-Stars at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Fukuoka Rizing. Okinawa GK will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shiga L-Stars will play again at home against the league's leader Okinawa GK (#1) and hope to get back on the winning track.
