Regular Season Round 3: GTK Gliwice - Cieszyn 94-64

There was no surprise when Cieszyn (1-2) was outleveled on the road by GTK Gliwice (3-0) 94-64 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by GTK Gliwice. Cieszyn was better in second period 19-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. GTK Gliwice forced 24 Cieszyn turnovers. It was a good game for forward Emil Podkowinski (194-88) who led his team to a victory with 24 points. Artur Donigiewicz (190-84) contributed with 20 points (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. Center Tomasz Czajkowski (204-82) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and forward Leszek Siwy (196-83) added 7 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Cieszyn. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. GTK Gliwice will face AZS Pol.Cz-wa (#7) in Czestochowa in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Cieszyn will play at home against Sudety and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
