Regular Season Round 8: Huracanes - Angeles 71-74

A very interesting game took place in Tampico. It ended with only three-point home defeat of higher ranked Huracanes (3-3) to eleventh ranked Angeles (2-2) 74-71 on Saturday evening. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Strangely Huracanes outrebounded Angeles 49-35 including 35 on the defensive glass. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Ronald Selleaze (197-76, college: CSU Bakersfield) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Cliff Tucker (198, college: Maryland) replied with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds and forward Ken Horton (199-89, college: Cent.Conn.St.) added 10 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Huracanes. Huracanes' coach let to play ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Angeles moved-up to ninth place. Huracanes at the other side keep the sixth position with three games lost. Angeles' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Abejas in Guanajuato and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
