Regular Season Round 1: Olimpi - Batumi 86-105

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Olimpi (0-1) in Tbilisi on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by Batumi (1-0) 105-86. The game was mostly controlled by Batumi. Olimpi managed to win second period 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Olimpi's 28. Batumi forced 19 Olimpi turnovers and outrebounded them 49-34 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by Olimpi helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Four Batumi players scored in double figures. point guard Irakli Mikeladze (182-94) answered with 17 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and point guard Nodar Gogodze (191-94) added 18 points in the effort for Olimpi. Olimpi's coach Davit Tortladze rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Batumi is looking forward to face Armia in Tbilisi in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
