Regular Season Round 5: Hamamatsu P. - Fukuoka Rizing 72-57

There was a change at the BJ League leadership position after last games. Round 5 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Fukuoka Rizing (3-2). They were defeated by seventh ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (2-3) 72-57 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fukuoka Rizing. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 41-25 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Jermaine Dixon (191-87, college: Pittsburgh) stepped up and scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and guard Aki Chambers (190-90, college: Cal Merced) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Michael Dale (197-84, college: S.Illinois, agency: Blacktop Management) scored 9 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hamamatsu Phoenix moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Fukuoka Rizing at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Shiga L-Stars. They were replaced at the leadership position by Akita NH. Fukuoka Rizing will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Hamamatsu Phoenix will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Fukuoka Rizing at home.
