Very expected game when 14th ranked Cognac BB (1-4) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Saint Chamond (4-1) 82-66 on Saturday. Cognac BB was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Cognac BB 39-27 including 24 on the defensive glass. Cuban power forward Grismay Paumier (203-88) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and center Maxime Chupin (205-89, college: Cal-Irvine) chipped in 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Saint Chamond players scored in double figures. Jean-Philippe Ludon (200-83) responded with 18 points and swingman Lamine Sambe (188-89) scored 14 points. Saint Chamond moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Vichy and Quimper. Cognac BB at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with four games lost. Saint Chamond will face bottom-ranked Saint-Brieuc (#18) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Cognac BB will play against ADA Blois (#8).
