Regular Season Round 3: Villeneuve - Tarbes 88-66
Date: October 19, 2013
There was no surprise when Tarbes (1-2) was crushed on the road by Villeneuve D'Ascq (3-0) 88-66. The game without a history. Villeneuve D'Ascq led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a good game for Belgian center Emma Meesseman (192-93, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with 21 points (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). Nigerian center Olayinka Sanni (188-86, college: W.Virginia, agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Villeneuve D'Ascq players scored in double figures. Villeneuve D'Ascq's coach Frederic Dusart felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Katelan Redmon (185-88, college: Gonzaga) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import swingman Alex Montgomery (185-88, college: Georgia Tech) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Tarbes. Villeneuve D'Ascq will play against Nantes Reze (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tarbes will play against Lattes Montpellier and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
