Regular Season Round 8: Hokkaido L. - Tochigi Brex 62-74

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Hokkaido L.'s (2-6) home loss to fourth ranked Tochigi Brex (4-4) 62-74 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Tochigi Brex dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Hokkaido L.'s 22. The best player for the winners was American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds. The other American import guard Tommy Brenton (196-89, college: Stony Brook) chipped in 4 points and 10 rebounds. American power forward Jameel Watkins (211-77, college: Georgetown) produced 8 points and 16 rebounds and international guard Ryota Sakurai (194-83) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Hokkaido L.'s coach Juan Manuel Hurtado let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Tochigi Brex have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Chiba Jets. Loser Hokkaido L. keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Tochigi Brex will face league's leader Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
