An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Tokyo. Second ranked Toyota Alvark faced one of their biggest challengers Chiba Jets. Host Toyota Alvark (6-2) smashed guests from Chiba (4-4) 73-41. The game was mostly controlled by Toyota Alvark. Chiba Jets was better in fourth quarter 12-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Chiba Jets to just 5 points in second quarter. Toyota Alvark forced 23 Chiba Jets turnovers. Naturalized American forward Ken Tanaka (188-81, college: Whittier) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points. American forward Jeff Jeffrey (188-80, college: Otterbein) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Nigerian-American power forward Reggie Reggie (208-80, college: La Salle) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Ryumo Ono (197-88) added 8 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Chiba Jets. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains second position with 6-2 record behind leader Aishin SH, which they share with Mitsubishi DD. Chiba Jets lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Tochigi Brex.
