There was a small surprise when GreenTops Netanya (1-0) defeated on the road Maccabi Ashdod (1-1) 82-76. Maccabi Ashdod was ahead by 2 points after three quarters before a 26-18 charge of GreenTops Netanya, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Maccabi Ashdod outrebounded GreenTops Netanya 45-31 including 18 on the offensive glass. 27 personal fouls committed by Maccabi Ashdod helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
