Important game to mention about took place in Mikawa. Sixth ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (3-3) saved a 1-point victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers Fukuoka Rizing (3-3) 68-67 in the game for the fifth place. Fukuoka Rizing was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Aki Chambers (190-90, college: Cal Merced) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import guard Jermaine Dixon (191-87, college: Pittsburgh) chipped in 21 points and 4 steals. Four Hamamatsu Phoenix players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) who recorded 23 points and 9 rebounds and guard Cohey Aoki (167-80) added 17 points respectively. Fukuoka Rizing's coach Mack Tuck tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Hamamatsu Phoenix moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Niigata Albirex and Fukuoka Rizing. Hamamatsu Phoenix will face league's leader Kyoto Hannar. on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Fukuoka Rizing will play against Okinawa GK (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
