Regular Season Round 4: FoKoPo - Jarvenpaa 73-69

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Forssan Koripojat and 5th ranked Jarvenpaa had identical 2-3 record. This time Forssan Koripojat used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Jarvenpaa 73-69 on Sunday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 28-21. But Jarvenpaa won second period 13-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Jarvenpaa 64-34 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Keith Thompson (197-90, college: Utah Valley) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import Cory Abercrombie (201-85, college: Independence CC) who added 21 points and 22 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side swingman Teemu Sulonen (188-94) responded with 20 points and point guard Ville Puotila (181-93) scored 9 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Forssan Koripojat (3-3) moved-up to fourth place in Division. Loser Jarvenpaa dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Forssan Koripojat will face Pyrinto II (#6) in Tampere in the next round. Jarvenpaa will play on the road against the league's second-placed Helsinki Seagulls and hope to win that game.
