There was no surprise when 7th ranked Oita Heat Devils (2-4) were defeated at home by top-ranked Osaka Evessa (4-0) 85-72 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Osaka Evessa. Oita Heat Devils was better in third quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Oita Heat Devils were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American point guard Kevin Galloway (200-88, college: Texas Southern) who scored 24 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import center Dillion Sneed (203-84, college: E.Tenn.St.) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Taishiro Shimizu (183-81) who recorded 17 points and 6 assists and American swingman Gabriel McCulley (200-89, college: UTEP) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Oita Heat Devils' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Osaka Evessa have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Toyama Grouses and Kyoto Hannar. Loser Oita Heat Devils keep the seventh place with four games lost. Osaka Evessa will face Saitama Broncos (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
