Very expected game when 8th ranked Sendai 89ers (2-4) were defeated on the road by top-ranked Toyama Grouses (4-0) 82-65 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-65. Toyama Grouses outrebounded Sendai 89ers 44-33 including 35 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds.
