Very significant was Familia Schio's (#2) 19-point road victory against Cagliari CUS 67-48. It looked good early as Cagliari CUS took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Familia Schio had a 20-13 second period charge getting the lead and Cagliari CUS was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 48-67. Familia Schio forced 22 Cagliari CUS turnovers. The former international forward Laura Macchi (188-79) notched 22 points to lead the effort and American Jolene Anderson (175-86, college: Wisconsin) supported her with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds by American forward Adrienne Johnson (182-89, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for Cagliari CUS. Serbian point guard Tamara Radocaj (170-87, agency: Interperformances) added 11 points for the hosts. Familia Schio will play against Venezia at home in the next round where they are favorite. Cagliari CUS will play against Ragusa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
