Regular Season Round 2: Impuls BGUIR - Sozh Gomel 69-84

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Impuls BGUIR (1-1) in Minsk on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by Sozh Gomel (2-0) 84-69. The game was mostly controlled by Sozh Gomel. Impuls BGUIR managed to win third quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Sozh Gomel forced 22 Impuls BGUIR turnovers and outrebounded them 44-29 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Impuls BGUIR helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was international guard Kiril Sitnik (190-89) who scored 21 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Ukrainian forward Sergei Dadukin (198-83) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Five Sozh Gomel players scored in double figures. Henadziy Zakhar (198-92) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Yaraslau Kurapau (200-91) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Impuls BGUIR's coach Fedor Rodenko rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sozh Gomel is looking forward to face Svisloch (#3) in Osipovichi in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Impuls BGUIR will play on the road against Prinemanye in Grodno and is hoping to win this game.
