Important game to mention about took place in Pau. Sluc Nancy (1-2) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging Pau-Lacq-Orthez (1-2) 91-89 in the game for the eighth place. Pau-Lacq-Orthez trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 31-22 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 89-91 at the end of the game. Sluc Nancy made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American Austin Nichols (200-82, college: Humboldt St.) who scored 34 points (!!!). His fellow American import point guard Clevin Hannah (180-87, college: Wichita St., agency: Court Side) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Ahmad Nivins (206-87, college: St.Joseph's) who recorded 21 points and 5 rebounds and Bulgarian Hristo Nikolov (200-85) added 17 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pau-Lacq-Orthez's coach Claude Bergeaud tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sluc Nancy will face Gravelines-Dunkerque (#10) at home in the next round.
