Regular Season Round 3: Stjarnan - Skallagrimur 84-68

Stjarnan used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Borgarnes 84-68. The game was mostly controlled by Stjarnan. Skallagrimur was better in third quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Stjarnan dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Skallagrimur's 28. Stjarnan forced 20 Skallagrimur turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a good game for international point guard Justin Shouse (181-81, college: Mercyhurst) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 assists. The former international center Fannar Helgason (202-84) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Stjarnan players scored in double figures. American guard Mychal Green (193-83, college: Ohio) answered with 7 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Egill Egilsson (193-80) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Skallagrimur. Skallagrimur's coach Palmi Seavarsson tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Stjarnan's next round opponent will be KR in Reykjavik and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Skallagrimur will play at home against KFI (#10) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
