Regular Season Round 6: Chartres - Quimper 80-93

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Quimper UJAP (5-1) beat on the road 12th ranked UB Chartres (2-4) 93-80 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Quimper UJAP. UB Chartres was better in fourth quarter 33-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Quimper UJAP made 28-of-32 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game, while UB Chartres only scored twelve points from the stripe. They outrebounded UB Chartres 42-28 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. UB Chartres was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American power forward Evan Harris (206-86, college: Harvard, agency: I.D.S. Law) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. point guard Etienne Plateau (192-86) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Alexandre Jallier (192-92) who recorded 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Senegalese power forward Malick Badiane (211-84) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Quimper UJAP moved-up to second place, which they share with Bordeaux and St Chamond. UB Chartres lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with four games lost. Quimper UJAP will face Charleville-Mezieres (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. UB Chartres will play against La Rochelle and hope to win that game.
