Regular Season Round 7: Okinawa GK - Fukuoka Rizing 68-61

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (3-4) was defeated on the road by third ranked Okinawa GK (5-2) 68-61. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Fukuoka Rizing won third quarter 17-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) accounted for 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. American forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) came up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Cohey Aoki (167-80) added 14 points respectively for Fukuoka Rizing in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Okinawa GK maintains third place with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader Kyoto Hannar. Fukuoka Rizing lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Okinawa GK's next round opponent will be again Fukuoka Rizing (#6) at home.
