Regular Season Round 4: Liffey Celtics - Ulster Rockets 64-75

Bottom-ranked Liffey Celtics is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to seventh ranked Ulster Rockets (2-2) 75-64. Ulster Rockets made 16-of-16 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Ulster Rockets outrebounded Liffey Celtics 48-37 including 33 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Kerri Shields (175-90, college: Boston Coll.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of her eight free throws) and guard Mairead McNally (175-88, college: Stetson) who added 21 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals during the contest. At the losing side Ailbhe O'Connor responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and Aine O'Connor scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Five Liffey Celtics players scored in double figures. Ulster Rockets moved-up to fifth place. Liffey Celtics at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Meteors. Ulster Rockets will play against higher ranked UL Huskies (#3) in Limerick in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Liffey Celtics will play on the road against Meteors (#9) in Dublin and hope to get finally their first victory.
