Regular Season Round 9: Hitachi SR - Toyota Alvark 60-102

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tokyo: Toyota Alvark (#2) and Hitachi Sunrockers (#6). Hitachi Sunrockers were crushed at home by 42 points 60-102 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game without a history. Toyota Alvark led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Toyota Alvark looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Hitachi Sunrockers' players. The best player for the winners was American forward Devin Uskoski (201-85, college: Rocky Mountain) who scored 23 points. Naturalized American forward Ken Tanaka (188-81, college: Whittier) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Kenta Hirose (193-85) who recorded 15 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Darius Darius (208-82, college: Miami, FL) added 14 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyota Alvark have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 7-2 record behind leader Aishin SH. Hitachi Sunrockers lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Toyota Alvark will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hitachi Sunrockers' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face again at home their local rival from Tokyo Toyota Alvark.
