Regular Season Round 7: Niigata Albirex - Gunma 81-70

Very expected game when 10th ranked Gunma (1-4) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Niigata Albirex (4-3) 81-70. It looked good early as Gunma took an 14-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Niigata Albirex took control getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and eventually winning the game that evening by 11 points. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) who led the winners and scored 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws). His fellow American import center Patrick Sullivan (206-88, college: SE Louisiana) accounted for 14 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. Canadian forward Marvell Waithe (205-87, college: Arkansas) came up with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian power forward Darko Cohadarevic (206-86, college: Texas Tech, agency: FCM) added 8 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Gunma in the defeat. Gunma's coach Ryan Blackwell rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Niigata Albirex moved-up to fourth place. Gunma lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with four games lost. Niigata Albirex's next round opponent will be again Gunma (#10) at home which should be theoretically an easy game.
