There was no surprise when 14th ranked Cognac BB (1-5) was defeated at home by eighth ranked ADA Blois (4-2) 86-77 on Saturday. Cognac BB trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 23-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 77-86 at the end of the game. ADA Blois dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Cognac BB's 38. ADA Blois had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was Nigerian forward Corey Raji (198-88, college: Boston Coll., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 19 rebounds. Lithuanian power forward Arminas Urbutis (205-86, college: Hofstra) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Romain Hillotte (197-91) who recorded 15 points and 8 assists and swingman Lamine Sambe (188-89) added 20 points respectively. Four ADA Blois and five Cognac BB players scored in double figures. ADA Blois moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Vichy. Loser Cognac BB keeps the fourteenth position with five games lost. ADA Blois will face bottom-ranked Saint-Brieuc (#18) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Cognac BB will play against Rueil (#9) and hope to win that game.
