Regular Season Round 7: Nitra - Rieker KN 90-86

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Nitra as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Nitra defeated 5th ranked Rieker KN at home 90-86. It looked good early as Rieker KN took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Nitra had a 29-13 second period charge getting the lead and Rieker KN was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 86-90. Nitra made 26-of-33 charity shots (78.8 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for the former international forward Pavol Losonsky (203-88, college: Cal-Irvine, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Slovenian center Salih Nuhanovic (208-82) helped adding 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Nitra players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Dallis Joyner (203-90, college: Stony Brook, agency: Blacktop Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and Canadian guard Juevol Myles (185-89, college: S.Dakota) scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Rieker KN at the other side keeps the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Prievidza. Rieker KN will play next round against strong Handlova trying to get back on the winning streak. Nitra will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Prievidza on the road.
