Extraliga round 7 caused change at the leadership position. Second defeat of league's leader Inter Bratislava (5-2) against fourth ranked Handlova (4-2) 80-74 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Inter Bratislava. The hosts trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 24-7 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Handlova dominated on the defensive end, holding Inter Bratislava to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Strangely Inter Bratislava outrebounded Handlova 37-25 including 25 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Tomas Mrvis (200-91) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Serbian guard Vladimir Velickovic (178-89) contributed with 16 points and 4 assists for the winners. Serbian point guard Nenad Milosevic (190-83) answered with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Justin Graham (193-88, college: San Jose St.) added 14 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Inter Bratislava. Five Handlova and four Inter Bratislava players scored in double figures. Handlova have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Iskra Svit. Defending champion Inter Bratislava dropped to the second position with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Nitra. Inter Bratislava will play next round against Nova Ves trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Handlova will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Rieker KN in Komarno.
