Perfumerias Avenida defeated Pais Vasco in Salamanca 63-47. The game was mostly controlled by Perfumerias Avenida. Pais Vasco was better in third quarter 12-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Pais Vasco to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Perfumerias Avenida forced 23 Pais Vasco turnovers and outrebounded them 47-34 including 33 on the defensive glass. They brought some defensive toughness making 13 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Angelica Robinson (197-87, college: Georgia) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. International point guard Marta Xargay Casademont (181-90, agency: Josep and Nicolas) accounted for 14 points and 4 assists for the winning side. point guard Maria Gomez (170-82) came up with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals and Senegalese power forward Oumoul Sarr (185-84) added 16 points respectively for Pais Vasco in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pais Vasco will play next round against Ibaizabal trying to get back on the winning streak. Perfumerias Avenida will try to continue on its current victory against Rivas Ecopolis on the road.
