Regular Season Round 7: Takamatsu FA - Shimane SM 73-67

Bottom-ranked Shimane Magic (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 73-67 loss to eighth ranked Takamatsu FA (2-3) in Takamatsu. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Shimane Magic won third quarter 18-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Takamatsu FA won last quarter 22-17. Takamatsu FA outrebounded Shimane Magic 39-26 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) who led the winners and scored 30 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Power forward Paul Williams (208-83, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: I.D.S. Law) accounted for 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Takamatsu FA's coach Kenzo Maeda allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) came up with 29 points and 7 rebounds and center Jeral Davis (216-84) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Shimane Magic in the defeat. Takamatsu FA moved-up to seventh place. Shimane Magic lost their seventh game in a row. They still closes the standings with seven games lost. Takamatsu FA's next round opponent will be again Shimane Magic (#10) at home.
