Regular Season Round 3: Tigers - 36ers 93-79

Very important is a road loss of Adelaide 36ers (2-2) against Melbourne Tigers (1-2) on Sunday night. Visiting Adelaide 36ers were defeated by Melbourne Tigers in Melbourne 93-79. It looked good early as Adelaide 36ers took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Melbourne Tigers had a 26-18 second period charge getting the lead and Adelaide 36ers were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 79-93. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Chris Goulding (192-88) who led the winners and scored 29 points. The former international forward Mark Worthington (203-83, college: Metro St.) accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. International power forward Anthony Petrie (203-83) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and international power forward Daniel Johnson (212-88, college: Pepperdine) added 20 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Adelaide 36ers in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Melbourne Tigers will play against Cairns Taipans on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Adelaide 36ers will play against New Zealand Breakers in Auckland and hope to get back on the winning track.
