Regular Season Round 3: Orvieto - Lucca 62-81

Very predictable result when Lucca (3-0) smashed on the road Orvieto (0-3) 81-62. It looked good early as Orvieto took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Lucca had a 27-13 second period charge getting the lead and Orvieto was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 62-81. Lucca dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Orvieto's 36. Lucca forced 20 Orvieto turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 3 passes made by Orvieto's players. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Jillian Robbins (190-84, college: Tulsa, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). Her fellow American import forward Megan Mahoney (183-83, college: Kansas St., agency: LBM Management) accounted for 14 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. American swingman Darxia Morris (172-89, college: UCLA, agency: Merit Management Group) came up with 23 points and Ukrainian power forward Olga Maznichenko (190-91, agency: LBM Management) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Orvieto in the defeat. Lucca will play against Familia Schio at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Orvieto will play against Venezia (#8) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
