Regular Season Round 8: Kyoto Hannar. - Hamamatsu P. 57-63

Undefeated Kyoto Hannar. (5-1) recorded its first loss at the home court. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (4-4) 63-57. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Kyoto Hannar.. Kyoto Hannar. was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 40-30 second half run of Hamamatsu Phoenix. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Aki Chambers (190-90, college: Cal Merced) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and the other American import forward Ray Nixon (203-84, college: Wisconsin) who added 8 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Puerto Rican-American swingman Edwin Ubiles (198-86, college: Siena) responded with 18 points and American center Chris Holm (212-84, college: Vermont) scored 7 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hamamatsu Phoenix maintains fifth position with 4-4 record, which they share with Aomori Watts. Kyoto Hannar. at the other side dropped to the third place with one game lost. Hamamatsu Phoenix will play against Takamatsu FA (#8) at home in the next round. Kyoto Hannar. will play against the league's second-placed Okinawa GK (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
