Regular Season Round 8: Tokyo Cinq R. - Aomori Watts 49-80

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Aomori Watts (4-4) rolled over on the road 11th ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (1-5) 80-49 on Sunday. The game without a history. Aomori Watts led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Guyanese-American forward Gordon Klaiber (206-83, college: Fair Dickinson) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points. Yuta Kojima (192-83) contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Aomori Watts players scored in double figures. Aomori Watts' coach Shiko Kotobuki felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American center Anthony Stover (208-90, college: UCLA) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Tokyo Cinq R.Aomori Watts moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hamamatsu P. Tokyo Cinq R. lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Aomori Watts will face Gunma (#10) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Tokyo Cinq R. will play against Shinshu BW in Nagano and hope to win that game.
