Regular Season Round 8: Niigata Albirex - Gunma 78-60

Very expected game when 10th ranked Gunma (1-5) lost on the road to fourth ranked Niigata Albirex (5-3) 78-60 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Niigata Albirex. Gunma was better in fourth quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American center Patrick Sullivan (206-88, college: SE Louisiana) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. Serbian power forward Darko Cohadarevic (206-86, college: Texas Tech, agency: FCM) replied with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and swingman Shingo Okada (186-83) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Gunma. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Niigata Albirex have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Gunma lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with five games lost. Niigata Albirex will face league's second-placed Toyama Grouses on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gunma will play against Aomori Watts (#5) and hope to win that game.
