Regular Season Round 3: Slask Wroclaw - Polpharma 88-74

Rather predictable result when Slask Wroclaw (2-1) defeated at home Polpharma (0-3) 88-74 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-74. Slask Wroclaw made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Slask Wroclaw especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was Serbian forward Nikola Malesevic (201-89, college: Rhode Island) who scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. American point guard Danny Gibson (177-84, college: S.Indiana) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian Nikola Jeftic (205-87) who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds and American swingman Michael Hicks (195-83, college: Central Mo., agency: Court Side) added 24 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Slask Wroclaw will meet Kotwica (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Polpharma will play against Asseco and hopes to get finally their first victory.
