Regular Season Round 4: Recanati - Firenze 80-79

Date: October 27, 2013
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourteenth ranked Recanati and 12th ranked Firenze had identical 1-2 record. This time Recanati used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Firenze 80-79 on Sunday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-17. But Firenze won second period 26-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Attilio Pierini (201-81) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized American power forward Ryan Pettinella (206-84, college: Virginia) who added 13 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Five Recanati players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Brandon Wood (187-89, college: Michigan St.) responded with 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field) and American-Kittitian swingman Kyle Swanston (201-86, college: JMU, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) scored 12 points. Firenze's coach Gabriele Giordani rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Recanati (2-2) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 8 other teams. Firenze lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fourteenth position with three games lost. Recanati will face Reggio Calabr. (#15) in Reggio Calabria in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Firenze will play on the road against Lucca and hope to win that game.
