Host Kings (1-2) lost to Perth Wildcats (5-0) 82-72The game was mostly controlled by Perth Wildcats. Kings managed to win second period 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Perth Wildcats won last quarter 16-7. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Kings to just 7 points in fourth quarter. The best player for the winners was American guard Jermaine Beal (191-87, college: Vanderbilt) who scored 24 points and 7 assists. His fellow American import swingman James Ennis (201-90, college: Long Beach St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Andrew James Ogilvy (211-88, college: Vanderbilt) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks and international swingman Ben Madgen (193-85, college: Augusta St.) added 15 points respectively. Kings' coach Shane Heal rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Perth Wildcats will meet at home Wollongong Hawks (#4) in the next round. Kings will play against Townsville Crocodiles in Wulguru and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
