Regular Season Round 6: Riviera Gdynia - Wisla Krakow 51-65

Undefeated leader Wisla Krakow delivered the sixth consecutive victory. This time they beat 7th ranked Riviera Gdynia (1-5) 65-51. The game was mostly controlled by Wisla Krakow. Riviera Gdynia was better in second period 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Riviera Gdynia to just 7 points in first quarter. It was a good game for American center Jantel Lavender (191-88, college: Ohio St.) who led her team to a victory with 20 points and 9 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Australian point guard Erin Phillips (173-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Malgorzata Misiuk (184-91) replied with 13 points and 7 rebounds and Ukrainian swingman Krystyna Matsko (182-91) added 8 points and 4 assists in the effort for Riviera Gdynia. Wisla Krakow (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row. Riviera Gdynia at the other side keeps the seventh place with five games lost. They share the position with Gorzow. Wisla Krakow will play against MKS Konin (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Riviera Gdynia will play against Widzew in Lodz to get more than just one victory in their record.
