Regular Season Round 4: WIT Wildcats - Meteors 75-54

Date: October 27, 2013
The game had a very big importance for third-ranked WIT Wildcats as it allowed them to take a leadership position. WIT Wildcats smashed bottom-ranked Meteors in Waterford 75-54. WIT Wildcats forced 35 Meteors turnovers and had a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Rachel Roberts (175-91, college: Villanova) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 6 rebounds. The former international guard Cathy Kavanagh (187-90) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. WIT Wildcats' coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Katie Ganser (186-90, college: Merrimack) replied with 18 points and forward Kate McDaid (180-92) added 11 points in the effort for Meteors. WIT Wildcats have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Meteors at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Liffey Celtics. Meteors will play next round against Liffey Celtics trying to get back on the winning streak. WIT Wildcats will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Brunell in Cork.
