Regular Season Round 3: Ragusa - Cagliari CUS 71-64

Date: October 27, 2013
Rather expected game when Cagliari CUS (1-2) was defeated on the road by Ragusa (3-0) 71-64. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cagliari CUS won third quarter 20-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Ragusa won last quarter 19-13. It was an exceptional evening for Ukrainian Olesia Malashenko (191-91, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. American power forward Ashley Walker (187-87, college: California, agency: Merit Management Group) accounted for 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Four Ragusa players scored in double figures. American forward Adrienne Johnson (182-89, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: LBM Management) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and international guard Cinzia Arioli (178-84) added 14 points respectively for Cagliari CUS in the defeat. Ragusa will play against La Spezia (#4) at home in the next round. Cagliari CUS will play against Umbertide and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
