Regular Season Round 3: Njardvik - Keflavik 85-88

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Njardvik (2-1) at the home court on Monday night. Hosts were edged by Keflavik (3-0) 88-85. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 3 points. Keflavik looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The former international guard Darrel Lewis (192-76, college: Lincoln, MO, agency: Two Points) helped adding 14 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Keflavik's coach Andy Johnston used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was international point guard Elvar Fridriksson (180-94) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 assists and American swingman Nigel Moore (195-81, college: Alabama A&M) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Keflavik is looking forward to face Valur (#12) in Reykjavik in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Njardvik will play on the road against Thor Thorl (#3) in Thorlakshofn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
