Regular Season Round 10: Chiba Jets - Hokkaido L. 65-72

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when one of their biggest challengers Chiba Jets (4-6) were defeated at home by fifth ranked Hokkaido L. (4-6) 72-65. Chiba Jets were ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 46-35 second half run of Hokkaido L.. It was a very good performance for American power forward Jameel Watkins (211-77, college: Georgetown) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The other American import forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: KMG Sports Management) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Hokkaido L.'s coach Juan Manuel Hurtado used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) replied with 19 points and 7 rebounds and Nigerian-American power forward Reggie Reggie (208-80, college: La Salle) added 8 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Chiba Jets. Hokkaido L. moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Chiba Jets. Chiba Jets lost sixth consecutive game. Hokkaido L.'s next round opponent will be league's leader Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa and it may be the game of the week. Chiba Jets will play on the road against Hitachi Sunrockers in Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
